Any individual over the age of 18 may apply, either alone or as part of a team, regardless of nationality, provided they have a project aligned with X Combinator’s investment thesis.

The project submitted must demonstrate a direct and material connection to the primary agricultural production sector. Projects whose development and operation do not depend on any form of agricultural innovation fall outside the scope of the programme.

The programme is focused on the Mediterranean region, and projects are also assessed based on their relevance to the agricultural and agrifood dynamics of this geographic area.

No, incorporation is not required in order to apply. However, it is a requirement for the disbursement of the cash grant at the end of the programme (see Article 11 of the Regulations).

Each selected project joins a 20-week incubation journey combining in-person events with weekly remote work.

Throughout the programme, Siena Food Lab provides access to coworking spaces, laboratories, and workshop rooms.

Each project also receives a support package with a total value of €50,000, structured as follows:

• Professional services. €30,000 provided during the programme, in the form of specialised services supporting project development.
• Cash grant. Up to €20,000 awarded at the end of the programme, subject to the achievement of the required milestones and the incorporation of the company.

Each individual or team may submit only one application per cohort. Submitting multiple applications for different projects will result in the exclusion of all applications submitted.

Yes. Individual applicants are welcome, as long as they already have a direction in mind and are willing to test it, explore it further, and build something concrete in the agricultural and agrifood space.

Projects should apply under Core agritech if they are directly innovating in agriculture, such as in precision farming, agricultural biotech, applied robotics, sensing technologies, water management, livestock farming, or new crop varieties.

Projects should apply under Agri-food integration if they focus on food innovation that depends on upstream agricultural transformation to create real impact, such as alternative ingredients from new crops, packaging made from agricultural biomass, or waste reduction in primary processing.

Other types of projects may also be submitted under the Other category, provided their relevance to the programme is clearly explained.

The programme is aimed at early-stage projects that demonstrate a direct and meaningful connection to the primary agricultural production sector. 

Selected projects will be notified by June 26th, 2026.
